A typical rugby tour consists of one training session on a turf or "new generation" astro pitch and 2 or 3 fixtures. The training session is usually a 2 hour morning session and helps acclimatize the players. The rugby fixtures are as follows; two games against Spanish or French opposition and one against another visiting UK team if available.
Depending on the time of year, matches are played in the evening or late afternoon, leaving the day free for other activities.

The games are 1 hour long, with rolling subs so everybody gets time to play. Age groups and pitch dimensions are those stipulated by the Federacio Catalana de Rugby. Referees are officials from the Collegi de Arbitros de Rugby and you are sometimes required to help as touch judges. In the case of a player being sent off, another player is allowed to take his or her place.
Matches are played against local clubs. The rugby fixtures are usually in the Barcelona area, although sometimes we visit French teams just across the border. The local clubs act as hosts. Matches between English schools are played on pitches in Girona, the local capital. Schools and clubs should apply to their relative associations for permission to play abroad. This ensures that the matches are regarded as official by both countries. We recommend that you bring a pennant or other souvenir of your rugby club to give to the opposition.

SunSports also organise the "Catalan Juniors" range of sports tournaments.
The sports tournaments take place at various venues, mostly based on the Costa Brava near Girona, and at various times of year coinciding with the UK school holiday periods.

The "Catalan Juniors" sports tournaments are held for Rugby, Soccer, Hockey and Basketball with participants welcome from schools or clubs of any nation. A complete package is provided including sports tournament entry, full or half board accommodation, in-resort coach transfers and a day trip to Barcelona with a tour of FC Barcelona included. As an optional extra, teams can stay one more night and spend the day visiting the Warner Bros. theme park "Port Aventura".

Accommodation is based in the Palamos and Platja d'Aro area, either in the ApartHotel Palamos with covered swimming pool (depending on time of year), the ApartHotel Sant Jordi, or the Hotel S'Agoita. Other accommodation is available if requested.

Coach transfer times to the Rugby, Soccer, Hockey and Basketball tournaments usually take 20 to 40 minutes.
