SunSports...Football Tours and Tournaments for Schools and Clubs in Spain

A typical football tour include a one and a half hour training session on a shale surface. Turf or "new generation" astro pitch can be requested at an extra cost. We provide up to 3 football fixtures, two games against Spanish or non-UK opposition and one against another visiting UK team if available.
Depending on the time of year, football matches are played in the evening or late afternoon, on shale or astro surfaces, leaving the day free for other activities.

The games are 1 hour long, with rolling subs so everybody gets time to play. Age groups are those stipulated by the Federacio Catalana de Futbol. We provide referees from the Associacion de amics del Futbol.
Girls football is 7-a-side. The age group in Spain is one open category from 8 to 14 years old. Girls teams over 14 play 7-a-side against 14 to 18 year olds.
Matches are played against local clubs in the Girona area, although sometimes we combine a fixture with a day out to Barcelona. In the case of a player being sent off, another player is allowed to take his or her place. The local clubs act as hosts. Matches between English schools are played on pitches near the hotel. Schools and clubs should apply to their relative associations for permission to play abroad. This ensures that the matches are regarded as official by both countries. We recommend that you bring a pennant or other souvenir of your club to give to the opposition.

SunSports organise the "Catalan Juniors" range of sports tournaments.
The sports tournaments take place at various venues, mostly based on the Costa Brava near Girona, and at various times of year coinciding with the UK school holiday periods.

The "Catalan Juniors" sports tournaments are held for Rugby, Football, Hockey and Basketball with participants welcome from schools or clubs of any nation. A complete package is provided including sports tournament entry, full or half board accommodation, in-resort coach transfers and a day trip to Barcelona with a tour of FC Barcelona included. As an optional extra, teams can stay one more night and spend the day visiting the Warner Bros. theme park "Port Aventura".

Accommodation is based in the Palamos and Platja d'Aro area, either in the ApartHotel Palamos with covered swimming pool (depending on time of year), the ApartHotel Sant Jordi, or the Hotel S'Agoita. Other accommodation is available if requested.

Coach transfer times to the Rugby, Soccer, Hockey and Basketball tournaments usually take 20 to 40 minutes.
